Replaced Components
The 1997-2005 Buick Park Avenue is built with the following suspension components:
1997-2005 Buick Park Avenue Coil Springs (x2)- Coil springs hold the vehicle up but be careful, they are rated for and designed to work with the rest of the suspension system, so when you change air shocks to passive shocks, then you will need a different rated coil spring that works well with the new type of shocks.
1997-2005 Buick Park Avenue Struts (x2)- a type of shock absorber; has metal tubing filled with gas-charged hydraulic fluid that is connected to the wheel of a vehicle in order to reduce the effects of vertical travel on a rough surface which controls the bounciness, and therefore comfort, of a vehicle.; the air spring assembled on top of the strut is commonly referred to as an air strut.
1997-2005 Buick Park Avenue Shock Absorbers (x2)- a metal tubing filled with gas-charged hydraulic fluid that is connected to the wheel of a vehicle in order to reduce the effects of vertical travel on a rough surface which controls the bounciness, and therefore comfort, of a vehicle.
Suspension Failure Signs
Your 1997-2005 Buick Park Avenue might have a failed or leaking air suspension if you notice any of these bad signs. A sudden, noticeable uneven height difference in ride height is the most obvious symptom. This can occur from the front to rear or from the left to right sides of your Park Avenue. It can be described as sagging or inflated looking. Perhaps the entire Buick Park Avenue looks like it’s squatting low to the ground. Also, look for an illuminated suspension warning light or message on the instrument panel. If the air compressor has ceased working or is noisy (running too frequently), you may be in need of a repair or replacement suspension system. Take notice of your Buick Park Avenue’s ride height- if it’s not consistently maintaining appropriate height, you will want to get it fixed ASAP.
OEM Replacement Cost
+ Strut ($289/strut)
= TOTAL: Over $578 (and that doesnt even include replacing electronic components that are known to fail such as the height sensors).
